The first ever European Curling Championship (ECC) C-Group event, which concluded today at Greenacres, SCO, has provided two teams per gender, which will now be promoted to the ECC-B-group of this years’ Le Gruyere European Curling Championships, which will take place from December 3-11, 2010 at Champery, SUI.

Seven nations competed in the men’s and five teams participated in the women’s section.

The teams of Turkey made their first appearance at international competition level. They were especially successful on the women’s side, as they “bought their ticket” to Champery at first go by winning the silver medal. The female car pool to Switzerland in December is joined by gold medallist team Hibberd from Ireland.

On the men’s side the tour group consists of gold medallist team Pitonak from Slovakia as well as silver medallist team Kirillov from Belarus.
